Hamilton James & Bruce Appoints a New General Manager
Tuesday May 20, 2008
Listed recruitment company, Hamilton James & Bruce (HJB) today announced it has appointed Larry Kleist to the role of General Manager, Brisbane and Wacol, and a member of the company’s senior management team.
With over 20 years experience managing sales and recruitment teams, Kleist has an impressive track record in developing successful businesses.
Kleist takes over from Alison Sherry, who has resigned and is moving into an HR Director’s role.
Kleist’s experience in the recruitment environment was gained with Brisbane-based legal recruitment businesses, Legal Eagles (formerly Eagle Recruitment) and Hughes-Castell. Having started as an international consultant with Legal Eagles, he soon rose through the ranks and became managing director when he purchased the company. After two years, Legal Eagles was acquired by Hughes Castell (part of the Vedior Group). Kleist was appointed to the role of managing director and grew Hughes Castell into one of Australia’s largest legal recruitment specialists.
Executive Chairman and CEO of Hamilton James & Bruce Group Limited, Deborah Wilson said, “Larry is a big picture focused individual with strong business skills and an ability to lead highly effective teams. His appointment will assist us in delivering the highest levels of recruitment service in the growing Brisbane market.”
Prior to entering the recruitment industry, Larry held senior sales and general management roles with Kids in Brisbane and the Triple M radio network. He is also an internationally successful yachtsman, having won multiple state, national and world championships over many years.
“I am looking forward to taking my skills and experience from the corporate and sporting worlds and using them to help expand HJB’s business in Brisbane, as well as kick-start their new Wacol office. The HJB team already has a great reputation in the Brisbane market and we can only grow further,” said Kleist.
Larry Kleist’s appointment was effective from Monday 19 May 2008.
