Hamilton James & Bruce is proud to be a corporate partner of Mission Australia.
Mission Australia is one of Australia's leading community service organisations with a focus on helping young people, families and children, homeless people, and communities and providing employment services.
The underlying aim of Mission Australia's work is to empower individuals to regain control of their lives and in turn, help improve and strengthen entire communities. Their goal is to provide short-term relief to people in crisis situations and, through the provision of counselling, training and rehabilitation, to encourage clients to become self-sufficient and economically independent in order to achieve real lasting change.
The alliance between Mission Australia and Hamilton James & Bruce is extensive. Not only is Hamilton James & Bruce the organisation's national Preferred Recruitment Partner, the company also undertakes a number of fundraising and recruitment related initiatives each year. These have included:
- Employment and career counselling
- Hosting a series of workshops for disadvantaged youth
- Clothing and Christmas Appeals
- Corporate boardroom lunches - the aim of these events is to educate Corporate Australia about community-based issues and use its influence to help strengthen and empower entire communities
- Client Trivia Auction Evening which raised over $28,000
Hamilton James & Bruce also has a Community Day Policy, which allows all staff one extra day of paid leave a year to support a charity of their choice. People may either work as a volunteer or participate in a fund raising activity for a recognised charity or community organisation.
